Inspired by the popular ladder chair, we designed this $20 Hoosier step stool for our workshop. It's built with only 2x4s and 2x2s and converts from a bar stool to a step ladder with just a flip of the wrist (actually a flip of the chair). Designed to standard bar height; fits perfectly in the storage section of our table saw workbench.

To build this step ladder bar stool combo, you'll need: 

• 2 - 8-foot 2x4s
• 2 - 8-foot 2x2s
• appx 50 - 2.5 inch wood screws 
• miter saw
• carpenter's speed square
• larger framing L square (optional but very helpful)
• woodworking clamps 
• drill/impact driver

Finished dimensions:  24" tall and 17.5" wide
